Free web hosting for artists!

We're looking for a few good artists. Show off your music, artwork, video game screenshots, whatever - absolutely free! Each artist chosen will receive up to 1 GB of storage, and up to 30 GB/mo. of bandwidth on our site. The entry criteria are simple:

1. Get a free account on this site.
2. Send us a copy of an example of your work using the email address you signed up with. Address it to submissions@mediamerlin.com.
3. Follow the guidelines in this post.

We'll offer these accounts until... we're not sure, yet. We're considering offering 100 or more, but when they're gone, they're gone.

Q: Why is MediaMerlin.com doing this?
A: Because we like our members! We really like artists! We feel compelled to give back to the universe! We need stimulation so we don't mold!

Q: Are you going to cover my page with ads?
A: No. We ask you to place a link to MediaMerlin on each of your pages. We'll supply the link. it's small, but mandatory.

Q: So who gets in?
A: You do, maybe. This is totally subjective. If we like your product, you're in. It's that simple (just like our brains for doing this).

Q: How will I know I've won or lost?
A: We'll send you an email when we've made a decision about your submission. If you've won, we'll send you additional information about your new site (technically a sub-domain, but who's quibbling?).

Q: If I lose, can I try again?
A: Of course. Maybe we didn't care for the ballad about your toaster oven, but we'll go nuts about something else. Like your video game about slugs mating. Or your 3D art. Maybe you actually got better on the tuba. Maybe we remembered to eat breakfast that day.

Q: Can I submit more than one item at a time?
A: Yes.

Q: What format can I use for my submission?
A: Submit audio files in MP3 format, images in JPEG format (.jpg, .jpeg), video in QuickTIme or RealPlayer formats.

Q: May I keep submitting once the contest is over?
A: May we keep beating on your thumbs with hammers?

Q: Who sets up the site?
A: We don't care. If you need professional assistance setting up your pages, you might try our alter-egos at GoToLinux.com. But everybody and his brother knows how to create web pages, right? Your server will be Linux-based (which means, we don't speak ASP).

Q: Can I only post items I've submitted on the site?
A: No. See "Limitations," below. But... we intend for these sites to promote artists.

Q: What happens to the content I submitted?
A: It's your content, not ours. We don't return submissions, though. It's more fun deleting them, later.

Q: So... do I get paid for this?
A: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha...

Limitations: You must be the legal owner of the content you are submitting and/or posting. Not being sued is a good thing. If you post extremely offensive content, we reserve the right to remove it. It's free hosting. Please don't abuse it. No pornography. No spam. No exceptions.
